Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Communications Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, in a statement to a newspaper today, said that the detailed studies of Bahrain railway network will be finalized in the first quarter of 2017.
The minister explained that according to the studies made in past period, the consultant will decide best way to design and implement the project, as well as the cost and technology to be used, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) quoted him as saying.
The length of the railway network is approximately 105 km. The first stage is 25 km and a monorail system is expected to serve 17 stations, according to BNA.
