Over one million German tourists are willing to visit Sharm El Sheikh, German Ambassador in Cairo Julius Georg Luy said on Wednesday.
Addressing the Egyptian-European Business Council, Luy said the German tourists are pressing the German government to return to the Egyptian tourist cities, especially Sharm El Shiekh and Hurghada.
He added that his country follows up the security measures taken by the Egyptian authorities in Sharm El Shiekh.
Luy praised the Suez Canal axis development project, saying that it provides an opportunity for Egypt to be a trade gate between Europe and Africa.
He said Germany is ready to provide support for Egypt to develop this mega project.
