Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) Monay announced that Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA) saw strong growth in year-on-year passenger and cargo movements in April. Passenger traffic grew 15 per cent year-on-year in April to 996,000 while cargo volumes grew 13 per cent to 38,137 tonnes, mainly due to airlines' new cargo aircraft and destinations at Abu Dhabi International Airport. "The 15 per cent increase in passenger traffic in April gives Abu Dhabi International Airport a strong, solid outlook for the year ahead. We expect this growth momentum to be maintained during the summer period, which will see over 900 flights depart Abu Dhabi each week," Harib Gannam Al Hameli, Vice-President of Operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport, at ADAC said.
