Dr. Sumit Datta reflects on the broad spectrum of human emotions in his new poetry book, “Saga of Soul: A Collection of Poems” (published by Partridge Singapore).
Datta’s “sincere effort to touch every nook and corner of human emotion” embraces a combination of styles. The poet expresses an array of feelings through limericks, haikus, satire, rhyming and free verse.
“In this digitalized world every heart is beating with existential angst,” Datta says. “Human soul is haunted by identity crisis. Cult of romanticism and revival of pristine verse can only heal the erosions. This book is a move forward in that way.”
An excerpt from “Saga of Soul”:
“Kindle the candles and
See all the unseens,
Heaven here, everywhere
Blue sky and greens.
You can bring spring and shower
Bring down the stream,
Rejuvenate inner innate
Ignite the dream.”
