French director Jean Martinelli presents adaptation of the bestseller 'Chicago.French actor/director, Jean Martinelli, has written a play called ‘I wish I would be Egyptian’, inspired by the novel, ‘Chicago’ by Alaa Al-Aswany, reports MENA. Al-Aswany said Martinelli had been working on the play for over a year and he did not interfere with the writing but was thrilled when he read the final script.Martinelli preferred to name the play ‘I wish I would be Egyptian’ instead of its original name, Chicago, as it better reflects the content of the play, MENA reports.The play is currently showing at one of Paris' grand theatres.
