Egyptian actor Khaled Saleh has denied rumours that his newest character symbolises former President Hosni Mubarak and current President Mohammed Morsi. Critics have drawn comparisons between Saleh’s character, Recap Pharaoh, and the Egyptian presidents. Speaking to Arabstoday Saleh said that his character is a businessman who works his way out of poverty. “It is not true that Recap Pharaoh symbolises either Mubarak or Morsi”Saleh said, “but I recognise that the values of the film could apply to us all”he added. Pharaoh was written by Mohammed Amin Rady and directed by Muhammad Ali. It co-stars Khaled Saleh and Joumana Murad.
