Bahrain's General Director of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security announced the arrest of a man for collecting money to produce a film on social media defaming the companions of the Prophet Mohammed (Peace and Blessing be Upon Him), according to the Interior Ministry.
The General Director said police spotted a post online with a telephone number to receive donations, Bahrain News Agency reported (BNA).
The phone number was traced and its owner was identified and arrested after a warrant was issued by the Public Prosecution.
Legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
