Zoe Saldana says her dog turned green on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy.
The 36-year-old actress shared the anecdote with E! News ahead of the movie's premiere on Monday. Saldana wore full-body makeup to portray green-skinned Gamora in the feature, and said her husband and mother had a bath waiting for her when she returned from set each night.
"I would just submerge myself in a very hot bath and that tub was just absolutely green," she revealed. "We had a very good makeup removal process that lasted an hour and 15 minutes. We would take a lot off. I just hated going to bed with all these chemicals still on me even though I rubbed them off."
Saldana's dog Mugsy followed her around on set, and took on a green hue herself.
"She's on my lap as I'm getting all the makeup done and I would put a towel over her because she's salt and pepper," the actress recalled. "All the spray paint would be in the air and land on Mugs ... We would paint all these little green mohawks on her. My dog was green!"
Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters August 1, and co-stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket.
