Former The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore is to return to the daytime soap opera for the first time in nearly a decade for a two-day guest appearance, CBS announced.
The actor is scheduled to appear in the Sept 10-11 episodes of Y&R. He will once again play Malcolm Winters, the character he portrayed on the drama for 11 years.
Moore is currently a cast member of the prime-time drama Criminal Minds.
"During his two-day return, Moore will reunite with longtime friend and co-star Kristoff St. John, who portrays his on-screen brother, Neil Winters," CBS said in a news release. "In the episodes, Malcolm returns to Genoa City after leaving town years before without a proper goodbye. Now, he's back for an important visit with the Winters family to make amends and catch up on everything he's missed."
Moore said in a statement he is excited to return to the show as a special guest.
"This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family."
