Sony Pictures and Original Film have already begun pre-production for a third installment of the 21 Jump Street saga, 23 Jump Street.
Deadline reports Rodney Rothman -- who collaborated on the script for 22 Jump Street -- was assigned to pen the upcoming comedy set to star Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as underachieving cops.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are overseeing the script with Rothman and are set to produce along with Neal Mortiz, Hill and Tatum. There is no word on whether Lord and Miller will return to direct 23.
The last scene of 22 featured a series of future never-ending sequels for the action comedy, but the fact that the film grossed $320 million on a $50 million budget likely motivated the production team to begin working on a real one.
