Robin Thicke has spent the last several months waging a very public campaign to win back his wife, Paula Patton, who called an end to their nine-year marriage last February.
Tabloids have speculated that Patton was unhappy with her estranged husband's alleged philandering and onstage antics with Miley Cyrus.
But Thicke's latest music video, the first single from his forthcoming Paula album, may offer additional clues to the source of the split.
The black-and-white clip features an anguished and bleeding Thicke, who croons, "I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small."
A series of text messages presumably allude to the couple's real-life troubles, including, "I kept trying to warn you you were pushing me too far," "You embarrassed me," and "I wrote a whole album about you."
