There was no shortage of buzz-worthy fashion at Sunday night's Tony Awards ceremony in New York.
The stars' red-carpet styles for Broadway's biggest night varied from classic black gowns to metallic ensembles to floral frocks.
Rita Wilson, who recently underwent a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer, looked gorgeous in a slinky, black, sequin-covered number with long sleeves and cutouts along the collarbone.
Kristin Chenoweth, a Tony nominee and the ceremony's co-host, wore numerous outfits throughout the evening, but made her entrance in a glamorous, cleavage- and arm-baring silver gown.
Debra Messing and Anna Chlumsky set tongues wagging when they took the stage to present an award wearing very similar-looking, plum-colored gowns of different lengths. Luckily, both women wore it equally well.
Jennifer Lopez chose a strapless, glittery blue gown for the gala, at which was also a presenter.
Broadway royalty Bernadette Peters and nominee Annaleigh Ashford went for citron-colored dresses, while Rose Byrne selected a red gown with a plunging neckline, zipper and ruffles, and nominee Carey Mulligan showed up in a simple, elegant, strapless, maroon garment.
Presenter Jennifer Grey, nominee Helen Mirren and nominee Elisabeth Moss opted for white -- Grey in a sleeveless, lace-covered mermaid gown and Mirren in a confection with sleeves that formed a wispy cape in the back. The top of Moss' dress was adorned with red, yellow and purple flowers.
Also leading the flower-powered charge were performer Vanessa Hudgens in a halter-topped dress with red, white and yellow blooms and a full skirt, and nominee Patricia Clarkson in a long, black gown with huge, crimson roses.
Embracing the metallic trend were presenter Phylicia Rashad in a regal, blue and purple gown and matching coat, and presenter Amanda Seyfried, who rocked a black and gold mini-dress.
Attendee Kendall Jenner went for a shorter frock, as well. She wore a salmon, sequined, long-sleeved dress.
Not all of the outfits spied at the Radio City Music Hall event were clear-cut hits, however.
Co-host Alan Cumming's busy, blue jacket and short pants drew mixed reviews after he unveiled it on the red carpet. While some deemed his ensemble inappropriate for the occasion, others thought it perfect for his playful personality. Performer Kiesza received a similar reaction when she debuted her short, white, patterned dress with sheer panels and feathers.
Actress Ruth Wilson seemed engulfed by her purplish-pink ballgown, which had a T-shirt-style top and full skirt, while Amber Valetta's one-strapped, black mini-dress with a buckle and side train, and Hilary Rhoda's black and red, bra-topped outfit were also misfires.
