Paul Rudd will return on the seventh and final season of Parks and Recreation.
The 45-year-old actor first portrayed Sweetums heir Bobby Newport on season four of the NBC comedy. The character ran against Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) for City Council, despite his disinterest in politics, in an attempt to please his father.
"He's the world's nicest human being -- and the funniest," executive producer Michael Schur said of Rudd to Entertainment Weekly. "We made a list of all the people that we wanted to have back and he was high on the list, so we managed to snag him."
Parks and Recreation debuted in 2009, and will return Jan. 13, 2015. The season six finale saw the series jump three years in the future, and Rashida Jones, Rob Lowe and Jon Hamm are confirmed to reprise Ann Perkins, Chris Traeger and Ed.
Rudd last appeared in They Came Together, which co-starred Poehler. He is scheduled to portray the title character in Marvel film Ant-Man, and will provide voice work with James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill for animated movie Sausage Party.
