Idris Elba is officially slated for Star Trek Beyond.
The 42-year-old British actor confirmed rumors of such by appearing in a charity fundraiser video with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and other Star Trek stars. Elba was reported to be in talks to portray a villain in the film in March.
The sequel's cast is seeking to raise funds for nine children's causes, including the Make a Wish Foundation and the Heaven Homes organization. The video sees Elba breakdance to celebrate his role and promote the fundraiser.
Star Trek Beyond is directed by Fast & Furious helmer Justin Lin, and opens in theaters July 8, 2016. The movie was preceded by Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek into Darkness (2013), which earned a combined $853.1 million at the box office.
