Out with the old, in with the new – stand-up superstar Eddie Izzard is coming to Dubai, as Sean Lock cancels his appearance, on the same day, at the same venue.
Lock was set to launch new stand-up series DXB Laughs, at Dubai World Trade Centre on April 27.
But at the same time as breaking the bad news, promoters Done Events revealed will instead be welcoming Izzard.
It’s hard not see the new booking other an an upgrade, with globe-trotting, whimsy-struck Izzard enjoying a substantially higher public profile than cerebral Lock.
Izzard’s blockbuster Force Majeure tour has been on the road since 2013, visiting more than 30 countries, so expect material road-worn to the bone.
