British singer Ed Sheeran took it back to 2002 Tuesday as he performed a cover of Christina Aguilera's hit single "Dirrty."
The performance took place during the his visit to BBC Radio 1, where guests often perform covers of popular songs.
Sheeran's version of "Dirtty" has a slower tempo than Aguilera's, and features him doing both the singing and the rapping portion of the song.
Aguilera, 34, released the track in 2002 as the lead single of her fourth studio album Stripped.
A day before Sheeran payed homage to her song, Aguilera impersonated Britney Spears during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
