The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation said it has raised nearly $45 million at a celebrity-filled auction gala in Saint Tropez for environmental action, but will donate a portion to a French anti-terrorism charity in the light of last week’s attacks.
The third annual auction held Wednesday night by the Titanic-star’s foundation honored victims and survivors of the recent tragedy in the neighboring city of Nice. DiCaprio and others also gave personal donations to the anti-terrorism charity. The foundation did not specify how much money would be given to the charity in total.
Special performances at the glitzy French Riviera event included Grammy Award-winning artist The Weeknd and award-winning recording artist Lana Del Rey.
Actors Bradley Cooper, Tobey Maguire and Edward Norton were in attendance alongside Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell and Bono.
