Chris Hemsworth stars in a new trailer for Blackhat.
The 31-year-old actor portrays Nicholas Hathaway, a genius coder imprisoned for cybercrime. The character is released on furlough to help the U.S. and Chinese government capture a terrorist hacker seemingly capable of anything.
Blackhat is helmed by Heat and Collateral director Michael Mann, and produced by Mann, Jon Jashni and Thomas Tull. The film opens in theaters Jan. 16, 2015, and co-stars Tang Wei, Viola Davis, Holt McCallany and Leehom Wang.
Hemsworth last appeared as Thor in Thor: The Dark World, and will reprise the superhero for Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. The actor is also scheduled for In the Heart of the Sea with Cillian Murphy and Snow White and the Huntsman prequel The Huntsman.
