Blink-182 hope to release a new album in summer 2015.
Guitarist Tom DeLonge detailed the band's plans in an interview with Wondering Sound published Friday.
"I am hoping that we can get this thing out by summer, but we will see," the musician said. "We actually have our very first big writing session coming here in the next few weeks where we'll get together and lay down our first tracks."
Blink-182 released their sixth studio album, Neighborhoods, in 2011. The record marked a reunion for DeLonge, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker; DeLonge left in 2005, but returned in 2009. Neighborhoods was their first release since Blink-182 in 2003.
