Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer ‘Sarbjit’ has failed to create magic at the box office but the makers are not bogged down by the debacle of the film, rather they are planning to send ‘Sarbjit’ as a contender of India’s entry for the Oscars.
Buzz is that the film’s co-producer Vashu Bhagnani has massive plans for director Omung Kumar’s recent biopic. He believes that the film may have scored lower than what was expected but that doesn’t mean ‘Sarbjit’ won’t join the next Academy Award race.
“Miles to go before I sleep,” says Aishwarya. Seems like she has moved on from the failure of her last film. Post ‘Sarbjit’ the former Miss World has kept herself busy with Karan Johar’s next ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. The movie pairs stunning Aishwarya opposite B-Town ‘Rockstar’ Ranbir Kapoor. It also features Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan in key roles.
Rumor has it that Aish was one of the first actresses to be approached for Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’ with Ajay Devgn. After Emraan Hashmi replaced Diljit Dosanjh, the buzz is that Aish will not be a part of the film and is replaced by Angelina Jolie lookalike Esha Gupta.
According to a report in a daily, her role was that of a royal scion. The character is inspired by Maharani Gayatri Devi, having quite a few scenes with Emraan Hashmi. The ‘Jazbaa’ actor was tagged plastic by Emraan on an episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’. It has been two years since then, but it seems Aish is in no mood to let bygones be bygones. Speculations are rife that this is the reason Aishwarya has rejected the offer.
