Princes Charles and his wife, Camilla, will visit the White House next month as part of a US tour, the White House said.
US President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will meet them in the Oval Office on March 19, spokesman Josh Earnest said.
The royals are visiting the US March 17-20 to promote US-British relations, including cooperation on climate change, an issue in which Charles has shown a keen interest.
In Washington, the couple will also visit the National Archives to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, the document which provided a new framework for the relationship between the king and his subjects
