A source close to Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi revealed Abadi's intention to visit the United States to discuss bilateral relations.
The source said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that: "Abadi will meet with US President Barak Obama and a number of American officials to discuss bilateral relations and ways of developing them, in addition to the security and political situation in Iraq and the region," .
