The judge of the Court of Appeal of Casablanca postponed the trial of Nasser Zefzafi and the other Hirak detainees to November 11 after a tense hearing held on the morning of October 31.
The trial of the other leader of the Al Hoceima-based movement, Nabil Ahamjik, the journalist Hamid El Mahdaoui, and 22 other activists was also postponed to November 31.
During the hearing, Zefzafi was expelled from the trial by the judge after the face of the Hirak Rif movement began shouting to protest the presence of the cameras of the state-run television channels Al Oula and 2M.
In solidarity, the rest of the detainees also asked to leave the room and join their “leader.”
After the dismissal of four ministers by King Mohammed VI for delays in the Al Hoceima Manarat Al Moutawassit development projects, Zefzafi released a letter from his prison hailing the royal decision while hoping for a pardon of the Hirak detainees.
