French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will hold talks here on June 26 with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, official sources announced Wednesday.
The two men are to review the current tense situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories where an Israeli crackdown has killed several civilians, as security forces search for three kidnapped Israeli settlers.
France has called for the release of the Israelis but has also expressed concern about the deaths of Palestinian civilians, including a child.
The two Foreign Ministers will discuss regional issues, Syria, Iraq, Iran and other questions and they will also address a number of bilateral questions, the Foreign Ministry here said.
Ahead of the meeting, Fabius "recalled (French) support for the resumption of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and determination to favour concluding an agreement ending the conflict, on the basis of a two-State solution," the statement here said.
