Environment Minister Khalid Fahmy will fly to Luxembourg Friday to participate in a preparatory meeting for the Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Paris later this year.
A representative of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry will accompany the minister on his visit.
In a press statement on Thursday, Fahmy said the gathering will discuss a number of issues set to be tackled in the UN Climate Change Conference.
He urged providing the needed funding and transferring technology to Africa so that African countries can adapt to the phenomenon of climate change.
He further called for political support for the issue of climate change, paying tribute to France for its efforts to reach a deal serving the developed and developing countries alike.
