The Arab League has received an invitation to attend a peace conference in Paris, France, mid January.
Seventy countries concerned with the Palestinian cause will be taking part in the event, said Hossam Zaki, the AL assistant secretary general, Sunday.
The AL is making contacts about the conference and its final communique, Zaki told a press conference.
The Paris conference will be a perfect chance to crystallize an international consensus on references and guidelines to reach a final settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Al official said.
The event will also stress the two-state solution as the only way out of the conflict, he added.
He touched upon an international consensus that lands occupied in 1967, including al Quds, are Palestinian, stressing a Palestinian state should be established there.
Commenting on a call by US Congress to cancel the recent UN Security Council resolution against Israeli settlement activities, Zaki said those who make such calls are unaware of and do not understand the mechanisms of action at the UN.
