Fatah Central Committee member Azzam Al Ahmad said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to meet with his US counterpart Donald Trump on May 3 to discuss Mideast peace process.
In statements to Jordanian Al Ghad newspaper, Ahmad said the two leaders are expected to discuss a number of political and economic issues as well as the two-state solution, halting Israeli settlement and occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and with al-Quds as its capital.
A Palestinian delegation is expected to head for Washington on April 23 to prepare for the visit, he added.
The visit comes upon Trump’s invitation that came in a phone call with Abbas last month, Ahmad said.
