Visiting Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab conferred Tuesday with Board Chairman of the French Électricité de France (EDF) Jean Bernard Levy on means of enhancing bilateral cooperation to cater for Egypt's growing needs of electricity.
During the meeting, Levy highlighted the company's long experience in establishing nuclear power stations, referring to the under-construction Flamanville 3 nuclear power plant.
Mahlab is scheduled to visit the nuclear reactor in view of Egypt's strategy to depend on nuclear energy in generating electricity.
Levy told MENA that EDF has been cooperating with Egypt over the past 20 years.
Meanwhile, Mahlab lauded the strategic development in Egyptian-French relations.
Mahlab arrived here Monday leading a delegation of the ministers of trade, electricity, aviation, technical education and transport.
