The General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) will convene here on Monday with Speaker of Egypt's House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal attending.
The meeting will be attended by a high-profile Egyptian parliamentary delegation and 1,000 parliamentarians representing 138 countries.
It will discuss a number of issues including human rights, regional and international disputes, current global economic crisis, women rights and youth empowerment.
Abdel Aal stated there is complete parliamentary coordination between the Arab and African group regarding several topics.
Parliaments should play a bigger role in ending disputes in the light of non-interference in the internal affairs of countries and non-violence of sovereignty, he said.
World countries have to cooperate to uproot terrorism, as the most dangerous phenomenon to international security and peace, the speaker said.
