Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi at his residence in Riyadh on Friday met with UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh.
They discussed the latest developments in Yemen and preparations for a Riyadh conference on peace talks, due to be held on May 17.
During the meeting, Hadi stressed the legitimate government's keenness on protecting the Yemeni people and improving their living conditions in such critical times.
All Yemeni factions are trying to prevent the country from being dragged into a war, Hadi said, pointing out that only Houthis insist on endangering Yemen's stability and security.
He slammed the malicious acts by Houthi militants against civilians, children and women in Yemen.
Cheikh, for his part, stressed the UN support for the legitimate president and government as well as Yemen's unity and stability.
