Staff Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, met during his official visit to Malaysia, Malaysian Armed Forces Chief of Defence Force, General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and ways to bolster the cooperation ties, especially in the areas of military cooperation and exchange of expertise in this respect. The meeting was attended by the delegation accompanying the Malaysian Armed Forces Chief of Defence and a number of senior Malaysian senior officers.
Lt. General Hamad attended the inauguration of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition (LIMA 2015), which was opened by Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, in the presence of Malaysian Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and a number of dignitaries.
The UAE official toured the exhibition, which features high-end military hardware, a number of boats, warships, reconnaissance aircraft and aerial photography.
Lt. General Hamad attended live air and defence force's parade in which the UAE took part for the first time in Malaysia.
