Sisi held a bilateral meeting with Tsipras followed by an expanded meeting in the presence of the two countries' delegations.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sisi congratulated Tsipras for assuming his post last January and wished him success, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
Sisi also hailed the close ties binding Egypt and Cyprus, added the spokesman.
Egypt is keen on promoting ties with Cyprus in the various fields, Sisi affirmed.
The Greek prime minister, for his part, voiced happiness for meeting Sisi for the first time.
He also underlined the importance of investing in the distinguished ties binding Egypt and Cyprus.
The Greek prime minister also hailed Egypt's pioneering role at the Arab and Islamic levels.
The meeting between the two sides also tackled ways of boosting bilateral ties in the various fields, especially in transport, trade, tourism and energy, said the presidential spokesman.
The spokesman further said that Sisi approved a proposal by the Greek prime minister to form a technical committee to promote cooperation in the various economic spheres and another one to demarcate the maritime border between the two countries.
