HE Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva (UNOG) Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Henzab, met here on Wednesday with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Michel Jarraud.
Talks during the meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The WMO Secretary General expressed appreciation for the efforts done by Qatar in the environment and climate change issues. He, as well, expressed hope for further developing cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
The meeting also, discussed the State of Qatar's nomination to host the WMO Regional Office for Asia and the Southwest Pacific. The State, which will host the WMO regional office is expected to be announced during the General Conference of the organization in May 2015.
