President Yoweri Museveni of the Republic of Uganda has received H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, and his accompanying delegation, in Entebbe.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Ugandan President along with their wishes for stability, progress and prosperity to the people of the Republic of Uganda.
The Ugandan President reciprocated his greetings to His Highness the President, His Highness the Vice President and His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, stressing his country's keenness to strengthen the bonds of bilateral relations with the UAE.
The Ugandan President welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praising the positive developments in the relations between the two countries.
He stressed that Uganda is looking forward to increasing cooperation between the two countries to a higher political and economic levels, including the exchange of visits between the leaders of the UAE and Uganda.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his pleasure with the visit and his wishes to contribute to the strengthening of friendship and cooperation relations between the UAE and the Republic of Uganda.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to support and develop bilateral relations in various economic, investment, trade and energy fields and the importance of to broaden the horizons of cooperation in the development and social aspects in order to achieve the aspirations of both countries and peoples.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues in the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East region as well as developments on the African continent and globally.
At the end of the meeting, a Double Tax Avoidance Agreement was signed between the two countries. The agreement was signed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, and Uganda's Finance Minister Matia Kasaija.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State, and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World.
