King Abdullah II on Wednesday received the Leader of the Parliamentary Group of the Christian Democratic Union in the Germany Bundestag, Volker Kauder, and the accompanying delegation currently visiting Jordan as part of a tour of the region.
King Abdullah said Jordan is keen to strengthen relations with Germany in various fields.
During the meeting, which tackled regional and international issues, the King stressed the importance of integrated coordination among different countries to achieve peace and strengthen security and stability in the region.
The King, according to Petra news agency, emphasized the need to support efforts to deal with the threat of terrorism and extremism, and to counter criminal gangs which threaten international peace and security.
The meeting also reviewed challenges in countries in the region, particularly efforts to achieve peace and establish a Palestinian state, and ways to solve the Syrian crisis and the situation in Iraq and Yemen.
The German delegation expressed appreciation for the great role being played by Jordan and the King's wisdom in dealing with various challenges facing the region, praising the Kingdom global status as it follows a model of co-existence and moderation.
