Iraq's parliament speaker Salim al-Jabouri met with Iranian Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and the delegation accompanying him, currently on a visit to Iraq.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of developing them to better serve interests of the two peoples and preserve sovereignty of the two neighbors.
In addition, they explored aspects of mutual cooperation to address the economic challenges resulting from declining oil prices as well as the repercussions of the security situation in the region.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi met Jahangiri earlier today, with officials from the two sides signing seven memorandums of understanding and bilateral agreements in different fields.
