Doha hosted today a meeting of heads of GCC anti-corruption authorities and agencies. HE President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the participating GCC delegations.
Al Mahlmoud stressed the importance of the meeting in crystalizing a common GCC vision on how to protect the integrity and fight corruption in all its forms and manifestations, stressing that the outcomes of the meeting will help in reaching a unified GCC position in regional and international forums with regards to the phenomenon of corruption.
The meeting, which was addressed as well by Assistant GCC Secretary General and a number of head of the delegations, will concluded with a set of recommendations to be referred to the GCC Secretariat General.
Doha had hosted the first meeting of the undersecretaries or assistants of GCC anti-corruption authorities and agencies in February, which concluded by the proposals prepared by the committee of experts.
The meeting's agenda includes several issues related to coordination and cooperation between the GCC countries in the protection of integrity and combating corruption mechanisms.
