Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby had talks Tuesday with Libyan Foreign Minister Muhammad al Dayri ahead of the AL extraordinary meeting.
Dayri told Araby that the interim Libyan government needs Arab countries' help in the face of Daesh crimes.
The AL meeting is held at the Libyan interim government's request.
The interim Libyan government has called on Arab countries to launch air strikes against Daesh in Libya under the Treaty of Joint Defense and Economic Co-operation of the League of Arab States.
Daesh militants are reported to have beheaded 12 people and crucified their bodies during the fight for the Libyan city of Sirte.
The majority of Sirte fell into Isis's hands at the end of May.
