Ethiopian president Mulatu Teshome received at the presidential palace Egyptian ambassador in Addis Abab Mohamed Idris on the occasion of the end of the diplomat's mission in Ethiopia.
A press release issued by the Egyptian media office in Addis Ababa on Wednesday said the Ethiopian president praised during the meeting the development of relations between the two countries during the past period.
The Ethiopian leader praised during the meeting the efforts exerted by the ambassador during his tour of duty in cementing the two countries' relations especially in the trade and investment domains.
For his part, the ambassador said the bilateral relations are not restricted to the Nile basin issues but also deal with important issues such as trade ties.
According to the ambassador, work is underway to establish an Egyptian industrial zone in Ethiopia in the near future.
