Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Salah Helal arrived in Khartoum for a three-day official visit.
Sudanese Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Abdel Mahmoud and senior officials received Helal at Khartoum Airport.
Helal told MENA that the visit aims to promote means of agricultural integration between the two countries and to continue the extended bilateral talks in this regard.
The agriculture ministries in Egypt and Sudan are keen to meet the aspirations of the two peoples and to implement the political leaderships' will toward the self-sufficiency in food security through a permanent and continuous follow-up of the agricultural cooperation projects and integration.
The Egyptian minister will meet with his Sudanese counterpart to discuss implementation mechanisms of memorandums of cooperation signed between the two countries.
For his part, the Sudanese minister said that the two countries are keen to open a new page through hard work for the implementation of agreed projects in the areas of agriculture and livestock production to meet the needs of the two peoples and to reduce dependence on the outside world.
Helal, along with Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi who is currently visiting Khartoum, will meet with their Sudanese counterparts to agree on frameworks that serve the best interest of the two countries.
Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi is already in Khartoum for the seventh round of talks on the Ethiopian dam.
