Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with visiting Ugandan Foreign Affairs Ministry Permanent Secretary James Mugume on Monday.
The meeting reflected the two sides’ keenness to promote bilateral relations and cooperation in light of directives given by Egyptian and Ugandan Presidents Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Yoweri Museveni, respectively, during their phone contacts in the past period, ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The spokesman pointed out to distinguished ties between Egypt and Uganda and Egypt’s keenness to boost its relations with the country in all fields to bring viewpoints closer regarding the Nile water file.
The two sides agreed to reactivate the Egyptian-Ugandan committee and hold a committee meeting in the first half of 2016.
