A delegation of the African Union Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) arrived here Wednesday on an official visit to Sudan to get firsthand information about the situation here.
The visit is also meant to boost cooperation between Sudan and regional and international organizations, said Othman Nafae, the Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia, upon receiving the AUPSC delegation.
The delegates will be discussing a UNAMID exit strategy from the country, Nafae said.
They will be holding talks with senior state officials on conditions in Darfur region in western Sudan, the diplomat noted.
The talks will also focus on efforts by the Sudanese government to restore peace and stability to the country, he added.
The delegation is scheduled to visit northern Darfur and to inspect camps of the displaced people, Nafae said.
