South Korea and China have agreed to carry out 69 cultural projects this year to build stronger ties between their people, Yonhap news agency quoted Seoul's Foreign Ministry as saying Friday.
South Korean President Park Geun-hye and her Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, welcomed the agreement Thursday during their summit talks held on the margins of a nuclear security summit in Washington, the ministry said in a press release.
The projects include various academic seminars, youth exchange programs, speech contests and concerts, as well as a joint study of pandas.
This is the third year in which the two countries are holding such programs after Park and Xi agreed in 2013 to strengthen their strategic cooperative partnership by developing people-to-people ties.
