Several ancient Egyptian gods statues were unearthed in Tal Tablala area in southwest Dakarnas City in Dakahlia.
In addition to the statues, several bronze ornaments and amulets were found as well as potteries, alabaster and ivory, head of the Egyptian monuments sector Mahmoud Afifi said.
Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Damaty said on Thursday that digging in area started last September in view of the site's historical and archaeological value.
There are cemeteries in this area dating back to the Greek and Roman eras.
