Myanmar will hold its first international art workshop in Yangon next week, during which international and local artists are to exhibit their paintings and sculptures, official media reported Monday.
The event at the Yangon Art Gallery will draw artists from the United States, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Netherlands and South Korea.
In order to preserve and safeguard its cultural heritage and national character, Myanmar also holds National Traditional Performing Arts Competition annually since 1993, participated by thousands of youth. The contest covers music, dance, composition and play at professional, amateur, higher education and basic education levels.
