Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damaty, Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou, Giza Governor Kamal el Dali and Assistant Interior Minister Ahmed Shahin discussed drawing up a plan to resume development work at the Pyramids on the Giza plateau.
Earlier, the project was suspended due to the lack of the necessary funds to finalize it.
In statements following the meeting, attended also by a host of interior ministry leaderships and the antiquities ministry, Damaty said that this development project represents a major breakthrough to the Pyramids area.
The project includes putting an integrated security system and installing surveillance camera, he said, adding suitable bathrooms will be provided and will be maintained regularly.
He also said that he discussed with Zaazou possibility of the contribution of the tourism ministry to the project.
Damaty further said that he called for resuming work at the project as of tomorrow and setting a time frame to finalize the project as soon as possible.
