Luxor is gearing up to host a ceremony to mark phenomenon of the fall of the moon light on the statue of Khonsu on Friday.
The statue of Khonsu, who is the Egyptian Moon God, is located in Karnak temple in the upper Egyptian city.
The ceremony would be attended by number of archaeologists, astronomers, and Egyptologists.
Scores of tourists and Luxor residents will take part in the ceremony.
Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr, for his part, said that Luxor seeks to make the best use of this phenomenon to lure more tourists.
