Iran's Culture Minister said he would render great support to books and cultural moves in support for the Islamic Awakening sweeping the Middle-East and North Africa.Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad Hosseini made the remarks in his address at the conference of Iranian Books and Islamic Awakening, where he also called for the translation of the works of Iranian authors on Islamic awakening to other languages. The conference of Iranian Books and Islamic Awakening was held on November 13 at the House of the Literati in Tehran in the presence of Hosseini, his deputy for cultural affairs Bahman Dorri as well as Mohammad Taskhiri from the Organization of Religious Proximity and Hujatoleslam Mohammad Reza Hosseini, vice president of the Ahlul Bayt International Assembly, the Iranian book news agency said. In his keynote speech, Hosseini stressed the role the Islamic Revolution has had on the recent Islamic awakening in the region and said some are after belittling Iran's role in such happenings while in the past 33 years, Iran has turned out to be the spring of such movements. He argued that several historical figures have sought the Islamic awakening like Seyed Ghotb, Seyed Jamaledin Asadabadi and Alameh Eghbal Lahuri. "Such movements were led individually and were directed by single political stances, so in that sense they cannot be compared with the Islamic Revolution." He added that Iran's Islamic Revolution seriously endorses such movements by the depressed. "No matter where, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always disclosed the nature of colonialism; it has also encouraged others to stand against force. No one denies Iran's role in the Islamic awakening but this does not mean that we have done our best in this regard and there still remains a lot to be done in international arenas." Elsewhere in his speech, Hosseini remarked the Muslim Brotherhood and its main figures and asserted that preservation and maintenance of the Islamic awakening is much more demanding than its initiation. "The region's nations should take advantage of Iran's revolution as the best experience available for them," he added. "Because no other such movements can be found to withstand all pressures, threats and limitations and still remain solid." He also asked his cultural deputy to back books on Islamic awakening and have them translated into other languages of the world.
