Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab attended on Sunday a ceremony organized by the Misr el Kheir Foundation to honor a number of students who won scholarships to study in Egypt and abroad.
Misr el Kheir foundation has launched an initiative in 2011 to hone the skills of Egypt’s youth in a number of fields, atop of which is technical education and training.
So far, 850 students have made use of the scholarships provided by this initiative.
In his address, Mahlab urged Egypt’s youth to be armed with education in order to achieve progress and get hired.
“The file of education tops the priorities of the Egyptian government,” he said, adding that technical education is the first axis to achieve sustainable development.
Mahlab further thanked the Misr el Kheir Foundation and all countries which contributed to the success of this initiative.
Chairman of the Misr El Kheir’s Board of Trustees Ali Gomaa said his foundation is keen on providing every possible support for all Egyptian people.
Till now, Misr el Kheir has provided 3,636 training courses for Egypt's youth in many technical fields, including nursing and logistics, he said.
