Minister of Antiquities Khaled el-Anani has said that his ministry has recently managed to restore seven important artifacts - smuggled outside the country - in cooperation with the ministries of interior and foreign affairs.
In statements Tuesday, he said the Egyptian embassy in Washington received on Thursday four artifacts dating back to the late antique period while the Egyptian embassy in Switzerland received Friday a funerary plaque.
He pointed out that Egyptian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Wael Gad received Tuesday two lanterns dating back to the Islamic era, adding that the objects will arrive soon to Egypt as soon as the shipping procedures are finalized.
The minister pointed out that his ministry adopted all legal measures to restore all Egyptian antiquities smuggled outside the country.
